Madi Majwana Season 2 Theatre is back

The launch will be officiated by the Deputy Governor of Bank of Botswana Oduetse Motshidispresent were senior Barclays Bank management and staff, Barclays customers and partners, senior government officials, members of the business community, young people from different institutions and artists.

During the same week, the radio drama hits the airwaves every Monday at 6.50am on Yarona FM, every Wednesday at 4.40pm on Gabz FM and is now also on Duma FM every Friday at 6.30pm. Time and day for broadcast on RB2 will be announced soon.

Season 2 digs even deeper into your pockets mining the crux of various financial issues across the country. It explores uncharted areas not touched in Season 1. The stories reflect the black, white and grey areas of real life in the light of financial issues, as various characters, young and old, from various backgrounds strive to make a living.    Recognising the various financial challenges and their social and economic implications in society, Barclays Bank supported The Company@Maitisong in 2013 to launch PULA! Money Matters. This edutainment theatre production prompted audiences to introspect and dialogue about different money matters in society. The project aims to encourage people to seek financial advice from relevant experts, incite wise spending and promote financial literacy as a whole. PULA! Money Matters experienced a successful run on the Maitisong stage and during its nationwide tour.

As such, it returned to the scene the following year dubbed Madi Majwana: Stories From Your Pocket, as a radio and theatre show, again sponsored by Barclays Bank. Barclays Bank has over the past two years committed P1,235,000 and will in 2015 commit P1,154,400 to support this project. This is a significant amount of money to give back in order to improve financial management of the communities to have a meaningful life, guided by informed financial decisions. For these years, the stage production and radio drama reached well over 600,000 people nation-wide.  Madi Majwana: Stories From Your Pockets stage production and radio drama premiered on September 8, 2014. Twenty episodes we.,re flighted on Yarona FM, Gabz FM and RB2 reaching listeners nationwide, with the theatre version also engaging audiences across the country in schools and public platforms. Dialogue also continued on social media on the Madi Majwana: Stories From Your Pocket Facebook group, Facebook page and Twitter page.

This year, Madi Majwana: Stories From Your Pocket Season 2 is packaged in 25 exhilarating episodes. The episodes are based in locations across the country with an array of characters from various backgrounds. These cha racters face money issues that challenge them domestically, socially, economically, morally and much, much more; reflecting the challenges of everyday life. The show in its theatre form will visit various locations across the country for direct engagement with audiences.
