The Ostriches are fourth with 17 points, one position and two points above Magosi after eight games.

Magosi and the Ostriches have previously met in four league encounters with the Kgatleng side winning three and losing one.

Chiefs lost the last league encounter 2-1 in Orapa, but prevailed in previous encounters. Orapa United spokesperson, Tebatso Hule said the team has not reported any notable injuries and preparations are in order.

Hule said: “Preparations are going accordingly and we have not received any reports of injuries. We hope all the players will be available for selection except for Ronald Chikomo who is suspended. We are doing our best to prepare for this encounter and we are motivated.

“We are not expecting anything on a silver platter against the defending champions, but we are hoping that the boys will put up a performance. We have beaten them here before and it will be nothing new. We are home and as usual we will enjoy the backing of our twelfth man.” Chiefs coach, Mike Sithole said Orapa United are beatable at home and said he is confident that they will get a result in Orapa.

He said: “Look I have beaten this team at home before while at BMC, it is just a matter of preparation. We plan differently for every game and we cannot give anything away. Their record is also a motivating factor for our boys. They will relish the challenge.

“We are the defending champions and every team wants to beat us. It’s like we are playing cup finals every game. It’s tough, but the boys have the right mentality. We haven’t been scoring enough, but we are happy that we are creating chances. We have a good attacking team and we will keep rotating our players.”

Sithole said although he has a few knocks at the back he believes by today they would have identified replacements. He spoke of the need to strengthen the defence in the next transfer window.
