Orapa United spokesperson, Tebatso Hule said they have observed that teams opt to use buses and other unregulated areas as changing rooms.

Hule’s tirade went thus: “This facility is owned by Debswana and maintained by Debswana. It is kept in the best possible conditions at all times. There is a reason why there are dressing rooms and the ablution block in the stadium.

“We are disappointed with those who choose not to use the facilities, but instead use the walls to relieve themselves. We believe that is unprofessional and it is also very unhygienic.

“We provide adequate security and we expect teams to be where they are looked after. We have set ourselves standards and we want to contribute to professionalising our league and incidents like this will always hold our efforts down.”

He lashed out at visiting teams for their belief that Orapa United uses muti hence the reluctance to use the facilities.

“It has been said many at times that we use muti and that is why, we think, the teams don’t use the dressing rooms, but we have proved several times in the field of play that we are unbeatable at home whether or not teams use dressing rooms.

“Our muti is that we put an extra effort in our preparations for the games and that is all we do. Teams should be free and confident when they visit. We will cater for them in the best way possible and by using the facilities they will help us see where we lack and how we can improve.” Furthermore, Hule said Orapa United was contributing to the future of national football through their structures in the Boteti region.

“We have development structures of under 15s and 17s in the Boteti region,” he added. “Our intention is to develop and nurture talent in the region and in future be proud to see these youngsters playing not only for Orapa United, but also for other clubs and representing our nation in different levels or even going international.”
