The last Miss Botswana was held in 2013, where Rosemary Keofitlhetse was crowned the winner. The 2013 queen has not received her prize up now, even though her reign was much longer than usual one-year reign.

Miss Botswana media director, Tshepo Maphanyane, said the finals would be exciting and glamorous. She said models would not only be judged from what would take place tonight but also on the assessment that was done along the journey to the finals. The models have been going through assessments in the various bootcamps. “The night will concentrate on the contestants, what the country has to offer and the production,” she said.

The panel of judges will comprise Tlhomamo Moje, Boitshwarelo Lebang, Dorcas Molefhe and Bogadi Nwako who have been the judges for Miss Botswana 2015 since the auditions stage. The public’s mobile votes will also be taken into consideration. The top 16 finalists consist of a number of established models that have a bit of exposure.

Maphanyane said the same fashion designers who dressed models during the pageant’s  fashion show component would be the ones dressing the models once again. The designers are Thabiso Dibeela, Aobakwe Molosiwa, Black Trash, Kaone Moremong, Motlagomang ‘DihDah’ Tsheko, and Lame Chilume.  Additions to the list are Thato Mminatau (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.1), Lerato Barwabatsile (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.2), Oganne Baitsile (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.3), Gaborone Technical College and Limkokwing Fashion Club.
