More than 400 security personnel, including 60 police officers, 120 bouncers and 220 security guards, will guard attendees. The security guards will be armed with shockers, teaser guns, metal detectors and shamboks.

DJ Kuchi said security had to be beefed up because of the previous Summer Xplosion, which was held at the same venue. “We have learned a lot from the previous at Fairgrounds, some strong points and others to improve on,” he said. “The station commander also briefed our security teams about the venue and the area.” Revellers have also been advised to park their vehicles inside the venue.

The event will have a line-up of close to 25 local and international artists mainly from South Africa. Most of the artists selected are crowd pullers with hit tracks that are topping the charts.

“Xplosion is a trusted brand when it comes to festivals, so with this one, the masses should expect nothing less,” DJ Kuchi said. “We have contracted a special effects company from South Africa, which will bring exciting effects along with the theme of Xplosion. Plus we can never exclude our girls dancing under the rain curtain.” This is the first Spring Xplosion in three years. DJ Kuchi has previously noted that they had to pause Xplosion events because a number of promoters were copying their concept. He said revelers are welcomed to come with their own beverages and cooler boxes to the event. Tickets for Spring Xplosion are on sale at all Liqouramas in Gaborone, and Dros.
