Justice Gaolekwe bags Presidential Medal
Famous for his colourful Setswana phrases during the Radio Botswana news bulletins over the years Justice Gaolekwe is up for the Presidential medal of Honour. His powerful voice is back on the airwaves of Radio Botswana after retiring in 2009. He is also described as an artist, writer and translator.
Hilda Mampane recognised
Her voice has been a familiar feature in radio Botswana’s Sunday programmes such as ‘O rodisa mowa wame’, ‘Sekolo sa Sontaga’, and other church programmes developed through the radio. She has entertained her listeners for 40 years, Hilda Mampane, is finally having her Presidential medal.
Art Legend Remembered
His name was all over the local stamps as the designer of the various artworks that decorated Botswana stamps in the 80’s and 90’s. Keeme Mosinyi’s skills are being honoured with a Presidential medal this Independence. He has also illustrated over 40 books and book covers for publishers such as Longman, Macmillan, Heinemann and others.
