BDP has humiliated me � Former BCP councilor

For two years, Mosojane had been knocking incessantly at the BDP door for a membership card, only to be met with a stony silence.

That was after he unceremoniously dumped the BCP in 2013 and started hob-knobbing with  the BDP.

Now, while the BCP has opened its arms at the advancing, but cap-in-hand Mosojane, the BDP has expressed its ignorance as to whether he has gone or he is still around. Mosojane, a former councillor for government ward, confirmed his return when approached.

“It is official, BCP has received my letter and welcomed me back. I have returned to my long time political home,” said Mosojane. “I applied for a membership when I joined the BDP in 2013 but I am yet to receive my membership card.

“I tried to enquire what delayed the processing of my membership card, but did not get a good response that is why I opted out. I felt unwanted,” said Mosojane.

BCP North East region chairperson, Lazarus Tlou said they welcomed Mosojane as he was a veteran politician who does not only add numbers but works hard for the party.  “To be joined by someone of his calibre is a blessing. We are organising a political party next month in Francistown to welcome him officially,” he said confirming Mosojane’s return to the party.

BDP secretary general for the Francistown region Raoboy Mpuang yesterday said that he was not aware that Mosojane has left the party.

“Mosojane has not even indicated that that he was unhappy about anything within the BDP,” he explained.

Mosojane said that he was an active member of the BCP, during his first stint at the party and promised to continue with his activism in order to help the party improves its fortunes.

The former councillor said that he has no intention of contesting the 2019 general elections.

Mpuang said that if it were true that Mosojane has not been given membership for two years, he had no answers to what could have caused the delay.

According to him it takes only a week or two for the BDP to process a membership card for a new member.
