Both sides clash after a tumultuous week. Police XI suffered their first defeat of the season against Gaborone United (GU) and as a result, surrendered top spot to Township Rollers. Gunners on the other hand lost 1-0 to Mochudi Centre Chiefs before off the field problems engulfed the Peleng side.

They have been preparing for this encounter without head coach, Pio Paul, who has been suspended by the club pending a hearing. The team has been under the guidance of Solomon Moipolai and Oupa Kowa.

Both sides beat the odds and had a good start to the season with Gunners winning their first four games before a slump. They topped the league table before Police XI leapfrogged them. Police XI have also now been replaced at the top by Township Rollers. It will be interesting to see how the two teams bounce back from a difficult week. They both have the arsenal to return to winning ways.

Police XI will once again rely on the experience of captain, Betsho Pius, as well as the goal-scoring prowess of Phenyo Molefe to deliver the goods. The arrival of head coach, Maxwell Moyo, seems to have also boosted Police XI this season. Moyo led Orapa United to their second place finish last season.

Moipolai and Kowa on the other hand will have a difficult task motivating players following the boardroom wrangles. An interesting battle is expected in the midfield with Police XI banking on Pius and Tapiwa Gadibolae. Gunners have Kemmy Pilato and Amos Godirwang who are capable of closing up any opposition. Boitumelo Modisaotsile, who joined Gunners at the beginning of the season, will face his former teammates for the first time.

In Serowe tomorrow, Motlakase will be looking for their first win of the season when they take on Jwaneng Galaxy. Motlakase are at the bottom of the log with just one point. Galaxy have also been struggling and fired head coach, Boyo ‘Oris’ Radipotsane this week. Sankoyo host resurgent Nico United in Maun as they also look set to find their feet this season.

Tonight, Gaborone United take on Green Lovers who have been conceding a lot of goals in Serowe. The GU defence will have to be on high alert with Lovers’ Moatlhodi Ralesotla aiming to increase his goal tally. He currently leads the chart with nine goals.
