Gunners deny salaries delay reports

Gunners spokesperson, Keorapetse Kgasa refuted allegations that the management had failed to shell players’ dues.
“That is not true. There are only about three players whose salaries delayed because they still had to sort out their bank accounts. We have taken a decision to pay all the players through the bank from now on,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kgasa said Oupa Kowa and Solomon Moipolai would be in charge of the team until the issue of head coach, Pio Paul, has been sorted out. Paul was suspended this week pending a hearing for misconduct.
The club management was to meet Paul on Tuesday, but the meeting could not take place because of the various commitments on the side of some committee members. “We could not meet yesterday because some of the members of the management were held up. The chairman (Kitso Dlamini) was also not feeling well and we had to postpone the meeting,” he said.
The committee was scheduled to meet Paul yesterday in a make or break meeting. “We will meet him today (Wednesday) and if we sort out the issue and we agree to work together going forward, he will then join the rest of the team on the way.
If we part ways, then both Kowa and Moipolai will continue to hold fort,” he said.
At the time of going to press, the club management had not officially briefed the players on the latest developments.
Kgasa said the Tuesday meeting, which failed to take place, was to address two issues which are holding discussions with the coach as well as asking him to brief the players.
Paul’s issue with the club comes at a time when the team has had their best start to the season in many years.
They have won four out of seven games they have played so far just under four months with Paul as the head coach.
It also comes at a time when they are preparing for a crucial beMOBILE Premier League encounter with wounded Police XI this Saturday at SSKB Stadium.
