The concept, brought to life by Ayanda Modisane and Oarabile Dimeku gave the audience a lot to talk about because it featured a variety of designs, some of which left tongues wagging.

The most eye catching designs, a black see through swim suit, left the model almost nude, except for a tiny cloth that covered her breasts. Some of the collections borrowed from Western fashion.

The collection, which will most definitely appeal to fashion lovers, is a fusion of different materials with African print, which gives the swimwear an appealing look.

The ramp was covered with a brown African print, which harmonised beautifully with the print swimwear showcase. The show featured print materials from Lesotho, Egypt, Zambia, Mauritius and Botswana.

The swimwear suits had female names.  The Botswana collection features names such as Tumelo, Naledi and Sethunya.

The most striking swimwear was the Botswana collection. The material featured black see through material and a blue African print collection. The collection features different designs such as body suits, two-piece costumes and bikinis.

Models on the night included the acclaimed Kelly Fenty.

Although the launch was short lived, the audience that consisted mainly of fashion bloggers looked pleased with the event.

Former Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant Goitse Kgaswane also graced the event.

Modisane, who is the director of Print Swim, said the costumes would make women feel good about themselves.

“It will make one feel confident in her own skin and bring out her beauty effortlessly,” she said. Modisane noted that they are currently working on the men collection, which will be revealed in the near future.

Hosts Bonolo Magowe and Charles Manase kept the audience engaged throughout the proceedings, while Mafitlhakgosi Traditional Dance Group was the cherry on top, as they gave a sterling performance.  Print Swim collections can be purchased directly online at www.printswim.com.
