The last time the Ostriches succumbed to a home loss was on August 23, 2014 when they lost 2-1 to the then BMC (now Gilport Lions).

But Miscellaneous coach, Russia Chaba is keen to put a stop to the unbeaten run when the two meet tonight.

He said their 1-0 midweek loss to Gaborone United will not deter his charges.

“We have accepted the defeat. The guys played really well; they showed a tremendous fighting spirit. We are looking forward to our next game. The boys are physically fit, all we have to do is to recondition them mentally,” he said.

“We are motivated by their record, we are going to beat them. Their record will not see the eve of Saturday. We are prepared and we are growing with every game,” Chaba said.

Orapa United spokesperson, Tebatso Hule said visiting teams come with this record on the back of their minds and it usually puts them under pressure.  “We are under no pressure when we play here. It’s for them to break this record; we just stick to our preparations and we enjoy the moment,” he said.

Hule further said they owe their success at home to their supporters and to the fact that they have control of their training facilities.

“Over the two seasons we have seen tremendous growth in our following here.

Our supporters really turn up when we are home and the atmosphere motivates our players and it really works for us. It is only that unlike other teams our supporters don’t travel and it works against us when we play away.

“The other factor is we do dress rehearsals for our games when we are home.

When we play in the evening like in our past game against Gunners, we train in the evening at the same ground.

It is purely due to these preparations that we are hard to beat at home,” Hule said.
