BMC Deny Tamirepi Exit Rumours

However, the team's spokesperson Tiny Dinoko has denied reports that the former Coca-Cola champions were on the verge of firing Tamirepi.

According to Dinoko, problems at the club have not reached a stage where they would consider firing the  coach.

The team's management is reported to be divided over the issue and so are the supporters.  Some are pointing accusing fingers at Tamirepi's assistant Rapelang 'Razor' Tsatsilebe, claiming he should be advising the coach yet he does not have a final say in team selections while others argue that the team has enough quality players to be competing for top honours but the coach has failed them.

'We have not reached that stage, to us it is not about the coach failing to do his job. He is not the one who plays, if he prepares them for matches and then they fail to bring results we would be wrong to accuse him of anything,' Dinoko said.

She, however acknowledged that the coach, as head of the technical team is supposed to lead the team so it produces good results.

'The team's winning or losing is the responsibility of the coach, but there are other factors that determine the results of matches.

But as I was saying we have not yet reached a stage where we would say the coach has failed.

It is plain to everyone that things are not going well for us at the moment but it is upon all of us to try to sort things out instead of jumping to conclusions,' she said.

Tamirepi in a previous interview attributed his team's poor showing to factors such as injuries and suspensions to key players and that it was difficult for him to bring better results when the team keeps changing.

The team dropped to 10th position after the weekend loss to brothers Ecco City Greens and with only 23 points from 21 games the team could be headed for another anxious league finish like last season when they avoided the play-offs on the last day.

Veteran Modise '10-10' Motswadi was the saviour on the day when his last minute goal drove BDF XI into the play-offs.

There are rumours that tension has been building among the players to the extent that some have resorted to sabotage to settle old scores with teammates but it has been the team, which has suffered in the process. Dinoko said she was shocked at the revelation.

'It is my first time to hear that and I am shocked but I do not believe it is true.

There is no bad blood among our players, they might be losing but they lose as a team.

Maybe some individuals here and there have not been putting enough effort but that they hate one another is far from the truth,' she said. With Nico United, Flamengo Santos, Notwane and TAFIC steadily moving up the ladder, BMC need to start collecting points now or risk the chop.
