Bokamoso bag four Coke awards

Kabo Seshabo and Tshiamo Plaatjie scooped the player of the tournament and top goal scorer awards, respectively. The team’s coach, Paul Mizi and his assistant Tebogo Maotonyane won the coach and assistant coach of the season awards.
Bokamoso clinched the title in a dramatic manner as they came from 4-1 down at half time, to win the electrifying final 5-4 in June.
In other awards, Itekeng JSS’ Robin Seemang won the goalkeeper of the season award, Denzel Fibion walked away with the assistant referee of the tournament while Trust Juwa got the referee of the tournament award.
Speaking at the awards ceremony held in Gaborone yesterday, BISA president, Joshua Gaotlhobogwe said his association’s partnership with Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL), has shown results in terms of promoting sport in Botswana.
“Our partnership has improved the playing arrangement, as in the past we used to have the Under 17’s playing against the Under-15’s.
Ever since KBL came on board, the issue of age has been resolved and we now have figures and statistics as recorded at every game,” he said. Gaotlhobogwe appealed to all stakeholders to come on board in an effort to develop the sport in the country.
“I urge parents to provide the necessary documents such as passports for their children because we have had a situation before where we encounter problems when a child is set to compete outside the country,” he said.
For his part, KBL’s operations marketing manager, Moitshepi Sefako applauded the media for the extensive coverage and the participants’ parents for their continued support.
Copa Coca Cola competitions has produced many notable players that have excelled in the local Premiership, and have represented the country’s national teams at various levels.
These among others, include Onkabetse Makgantai of Nico United, full back Thato Kebue and Botswana’s only export to South Africa’s ABSA Premiership, Mogakolodi Ngele.
