Man Killed In Fight For Madila

Kelemogamang Ramohubu is accused of killing Nanogang Ramashana in 2011 at the lands, after a fight ensued following a misunderstanding over sour milk. Ramohubu is said to have overpowered and stabbed the deceased with a knife, which was later found a few meters away from the crime scene. When giving evidence in court, Detective Constable Thatayaone Kaketso of Sejelo Police Station said when he arrived at the crime scene, he found the accused in the company of his parents and several community members, with the deceased sprawled on the ground in a pool of blood.

Kaketso explained that eyewitnesses told him that the accused and the deceased were fighting over the sour milk they had been given to share.

“I was told they had a misunderstanding that led to a fight after the deceased promised the accused sour milk. They were allegedly given that sour milk to share, but they then both refused to share so they argued about it and later fought,” he said.

The detective said the accused had stabbed the deceased with a knife, who was certified died upon arrival at the hospital.

Kaketso explained that the accused handed himself upon arrival at the crime scene and confessed that he was the one who had stabbed the deceased and also confessed to why had he killed him.

“The accused handed himself to me and said he was the one who had killed the deceased. The deceased had an open wound below his armpit. There were also struggle marks on the ground,” he said. Kaketso was also cross-examined by the defence counsel, Yul Moncho. The case will continue next year when the State calls in the last witness.
