Their relationship started at this year’s social studies fair national finals held at Mater Spei College here over the weekend. The IDM spent P75,000, with P40,000 given to prize winners and the remainder into logistics, branding and merchandise.
Unveiling the MOU, IDM Institute’s marketing executive Chris Moiketsi said theirs was a response to the call to adopt schools, which they have since broadened to adopt all the schools through the support of the national social studies fair, organised under the auspices of the Botswana Social Studies Association. The weekend event that ended late Sunday, saw Ledumang Senior secondary school (SSS) from Gaborone crowned the debating champions, while another Gaborone school Nanogang Junior secondary school (JSS) were crowned the JSS debating champions.
In the quiz category St Joseph’s College from Gaborone were crowned the SSS champions, while Bathoen JSS from Kanye emerged the quiz champions in the JSS category. Moeding College from Otse took the Written Projects crown in the Seniors, with Sedimoeng crowned the champions in the JSS category.
In the essay writing category, Francistown’s Mater Spei were crowned the champions in the seniors, with Gaborone’s Maikano JSS crowned the junior champions. Moeding Otse once again were crowned the champions in the models category, while Batanani, from Mapoka, got that honour in the JSS.
Moeding also took the Charts category, while Batanani JSS won the JSS category. kano
