Satmos were presented with a chance to take the lead in the ninth minute after they caught the opponent’s defence, but Kediemetse Radikoko’s finesse shot was matched by a superb save from Bokamoso Moeba.

Two minutes later Satmos got another chance when striker Sadiki Takunda made a good run through the defence, but was let down by his finishing.

Police’s best chance came in the 17th minute when Betsho Pius put in a telling cross into the box but Phenyo Molefe’s header did not connect well with the cross. Tapiwa Gadibolae put the Jungles Kings ahead with a beautiful header from Katlego Masole’s free kick.

Satmos keeper, Kagiso Tshelametsi came up with a good save to deny the opponent to double their lead, when he denied Kawashu Makai in a one-on-one situation.

The second half started with the visitors looking for an equaliser but missing a lot of chances, with Takunda being the culprit. In the 63rd minute Ogomoditse Sitang controlled the ball well in the box, but his shot did not trouble Tshelametsi.

Sitang was presented with another chance to extend his team’s lead in the 65th minute, when he received a through ball from Molefe. However, his low drive shot missed the post by a whisker.

Pius produced the worst miss of the game when Makai found him unmarked in the box, but the weak shot was well collected by Tshelametsi in the 79th minute. Substitute Uyapo Seleka who came in for Sitang nearly made an immediate impact into the game but his shot hit the cross bar. Police Xi coach, Maitumelo Lotlaamoreng said he was happy to have collected the three points and that the team continued their good run of wins.

His counterpart, Kgosietsile Jacob said he was satisfied with the team’s play but was frustrated with a number of missed chances. “We played well compared to our previous game. I think we need to work on our finishing,” he said.
