Microsoft urges business community to embrace Windows 10

Microsoft Windows business division director, Rotimi Olumide told BusinessWeek that the objective of the conference was to provide key decision-makers, from across different segments, with information on the benefits and potential of Windows 10.

“Windows 10 is a platform that enables our customers to enjoy personal experiences on their mobile devices.  It also serves as a platform through which organisations can enjoy productive experiences through cloud solutions,” he said.

Even though the product is said to be advanced, Olumide said the latest offering has few similar features to the Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, which include  compatibility and security.

“The key different features, which Windows 10 has include the enterprise protection, which enables automated inscription functionality for data that comes in the Windows 10 device,” said Olumide.

“In this Windows, we have also introduced the biometric functionality multifactor, which simply means that our customers can now sign into the device through an iris scanner, facial recognition technology and finger printing,” he said.

Microsoft general manager for East and Southern Africa, Sebuli Haileleul said Windows 10 has innovations such as Cortana, an Xbox app that helps users manage their activities and calendar. “We want to roll out the Intelligence Cloud, which can allow our customers access infrastructure service software, reinvest business productivity through Office 365 as well as enable our customers to video conferencing and Skype,” he said.

Going forward, Haileleul said they intend to continue rolling out innovation and consistently provide the best service and latest security to ensure that their customers are protected.
