Rollers factions reach common ground

Although details of their agreement are still sketchy, there are reports that the two camps have agreed to form an interim committee that will run the club until a permanent solution is found. The two camps have reportedly reached an agreement to have both Mmui and Walter Kgabung co-chair the new interim committee.
They have also reportedly agreed on an arrangement that will be able to accommodate Jagdish Shah without violating the High Court ruling.
The factional wars followed a High Court ruling in which Justice Leatile Dambe declared the running of the club by a company unconstitutional.
The other faction led by former chairperson, David Mmui had taken the club to court challenging the arrival of Township Holdings into the running of the club. The company is co-owned by Shah and Somerset Gobuiwang with the society owning the remaining 20 percent.
The two camps fired shots at each other recently through press statements over who should be in the executive committee.
Shah felt left in the lurch following the ruling and threatened to leave. The two factions however later agreed to hold talks and roped in the Botswana Football Association president, Tebogo Sebego as a mediator.
They reportedly agreed at the last meeting on Wednesday to form an interim committee until a special general meeting is held early next month. “I am not ready to divulge the details of the meeting, but I can reveal that the two parties have reached a common understanding,” Sebego told Mmegi Sport yesterday.
“They shook hands and are now one family. I am waiting for them to sign the agreement and that is when I can be able to reveal what they agreed on.”
Information reaching Mmegi Sport is that veteran sports administrator, Dickson Gabanakgosi will oversee the new arrangement until the special AGM where the new executive committee is expected to be ushered in.
