Sankoyo braces for bumper crowd against Rollers

Sankoyo team manager, Odirile Sibanda, told Mmegi Sport they had made proper arrangements to cater for the expected large turnout. Five access points would be opened and, if need be, two more would be available.
Sibanda said they wanted to avoid a repeat to their game against Mochudi Centre Chiefs where scores of fans had still not entered the stadium at halftime.
This time, tickets for the game arrived on time and have been on sale since Wednesday. The game kicks off at 3:30pm and not 5pm as indicated on the tickets. Sankoyo has had a slow start to the season, winning only once in five games.
Rollers are unbeaten in five matches, but have drawn twice against Jwaneng Galaxy and BR Highlanders.
Rollers won 2-1 against Ngurungu in their last visit to Maun and would come out firing on all cylinders for this encounter.
Gadimang Tiiso, Ngurungu’s caretaker coach, said they need nothing but maximum points to breath life into their faltering campaign. Tiiso warned Township Rollers not to bank on past performance. “We go into the game needing all the three points,” Tiiso said. Sankoyo’s target is 21 points at the end of the first round, but they are already under pressure after a poor start.
Rollers coach, Mark Harrison said they are fully prepared for Sankoyo and are in Maun for all three points. Harrison, who undertakes his first ever trip to Maun, said they have trained hard for the game. He said they are not expecting Sankoyo to play like the same team that lost to Green Lovers in Serowe.
“We are aware that any team we play is like a cup final so we expect a highly energised Sankoyo,” he said. He added that they are aware of the difficulties of facing Sankoyo at home due to the high temperatures and poor pitch conditions.
Rollers will fly to Maun on Saturday morning, just hours before the game.
