B-Block/Touch has been nominated in the best hip hop/motswako artist category, for his single Top Shambole. He will be competing alongside Epic’s Respect Boi, Chrome’s No Track Ya Summer and R Stunner’s Milidzani Maboko song.

B-Block/Touch told Showbiz that his intention is to bring the award home.

B-Block/Touch said Top Shambole is the third single in his album, which will be released next year.

“The song talks about a beautiful Motswana woman,” he said. “I dropped this single just to appreciate the beauty of Botswana women.”

B-Block/Touch said the single, which was released in January, is receiving a lot of airplay in local radio stations with followers across all age groups. One of his new year’s resolution was to be nominated for the Botswana Music Union (BOMU) awards. He said YAMAs nomination was a step towards his dream.

“The nomination means a lot to me,” he added. “I never thought I would make it for the YAMAs. I promise my fans as well as the people of Francistown to represent them well and bring the award home thus pleading for everyone’s support.”

He said the song had been doing well on Yarona FM’s top 40, and had been on position one for sometime. The song was also recently on position three among RB 2’s top 40. It was also on Duma FM’s top 20.

“This shows that people have welcomed and appreciated this song, especially women,” he said.

B-Block/Touch said what excited him most was that even in social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter as well as WhatsApp women use hastag # Top Shambole, which he says showed appreciation.

He called upon his fans to be ready for Top Shambole video, which was shot over the weekend in Gaborone and will be released soon. He promised the people of Francistown and his fans generally a lot of fun ahead as he intended to host the YAMAs nomination pre-party as well as the video pre-launch party of the single.

The YAMA awards will be held in Gaborone in December.
