Pabalinga said people graced the shows in large numbers, something he applauded the nation for, adding that they should expect an even bigger event next year.

“People came in large numbers to all the shows, starting from the poetry, to the last show, which was jazz, despite the rainy weather, which I thought would affect it,” he said.

The festival, which started last week, catered for everyone as it had poetry, choral music, comedy, a music festival featuring a variety of genres as well as a jazz show. More than 45 local and international artists performed at different events, including South African group Mafikizolo, Khuli Chana, Ringo Madlingozi and a Nigerian comedian, Basket Mouth.

In an interview with Showbiz, Pabalinga said the nation should expect a bigger GIMC festival next year, noting they will introduce a few changes for the benefit of the audience. Different attendees of the GIMC shared the same sentiments with him as one reveler, Priscilla Matshetshe, applauded the organisers of the GIMC pointing out that it was a week full of fun. She added that events like this should come more often.

“The thing that really impressed me about this GIMC is that, I had a choice to go out and have fun appreciating talents,” she said. “Locals acts outclassed the international acts, which proved that surely Botswana has got talent.”
