Agent blamed in Boseja transfer saga

Boseja was announced as a Sundowns player last week, after penning a two-year deal with the club following her exit from Bloemfontein Celtic. Following the announcement, Action said they were preparing to challenge her move. The Gaborone-based side claim Boseja was on a loan move to Celtic and are pointing the blame finger at the player’s agent, Moran Nthoiwa of Nthoiwa Sports Excellence.
A Double Action official told Mmegi Sport that Nthoiwa ignored the club’s advances and had the 23-year-old sign for the Pretoria-based side.
“We had advised the player to talk to her agent to advise him to follow the right procedure. As the club, we reminded her that we still have her papers with us, they have been here since we signed her from (Township) Rollers (in 2017),” said the official on condition of anonymity. “We even went to the extent of trying to engage the agent, advising him that the player belongs to us, he should engage us first before they sign for Sundowns. We guess he ignored our attempts and had the player sign for Sundowns without our involvement.”
At press time, Nthoiwa had not responded to Mmegi Sport enquiry sent earlier this week.
Nthoiwa has been handling Boseja’s business for over a year. He, through his sports agency arranged a trial with a Slovakian elite league side, but was the move was foiled due to the travel restrictions brought by the outbreak of COVID-19. Nthoiwa represents Boseja’s Mares’ teammates, Lone Gaofetoge and Refilwe Tholakele amongst others. Meanwhile, while the local game is suspended Gaborone United (GU) are at full pace recruiting. The Reds on Wednesday announced the capture of former Zebras midfielder, Lebogang Ditsele from league champions, Jwaneng Galaxy.
The midfield enforcer returns to the capital city to join GU on a two-year deal after his initial stint with cross town rivals, Township Rollers.
