It would be the first time the Zebras play an official match at the new 26,500 seater Francistown Stadium.

In order to get used to the turf, Peter Butler’s charges left Gaborone yesterday to continue their preparations in Francistown.

Their first training session at the new venue would be at 4pm today.

The Zebras desperately need three points to put their campaign back on track after a derailing 2-0 loss to Uganda in the opening match.

Butler has stuck to his tried philosophy of blending youth with experience. The coach said he expects a full squad with the foreign based duo of Omaatla Kebatho and Ofentse Nato joining the rest of the team last night. Nato plays for Indian side, Atletico de Kolkata while Kebatho is based in South African and turns out for Vasco Da Gama. Butler declared his charges are ready to inflict defeat on the physical West Africans.

“I know a lot about them, they are a good team. We played against them in Nelspruit and I watched them during the AFCON finals. We are not fearful,” Butler said. He hailed the move to take the game to Francistown.

“The new venue is fine for Botswana football. It is fantastic for people in the north. We want to go out there and get a good result for them, they deserve it. Hopefully they will come out in large numbers. We are very optimistic,” he said.
