Limkokwing Donates ICT Equipment To Morama JSS

The school performed poorly in the 2014 JC results with a drop of 9.7% and 44% pass rate. The school head, Mpho Lesego said the school is ICT challenged but that students excel well in sports.
Limkokwing spokesperson, Mercy Thebe said the gesture was driven by the university’s creativity and innovation pillar with the hope to make learning easy by accessing online materials, doing researches and equally reading online journals. They also donated books published by the university founder, staff as well as students.
She said the ceremony allowed the students and staff to pause from their busy schedule and celebrate, salute dedication and perseverance which has resulted in awarding of prizes.
Thebe noted that Limkokwing was directly affected by poor performance of junior schools.
“That affects our mandate of providing platforms for youth to network and contribute towards world economics and be involved in global events where their opinions are heard and respected,” she said.
Thebe said government advocates for partnerships between parents, teachers, learners and the private sector so as to overcome the challenges faced by the education sector.
She emphasised that education was the key that opened doors while the teacher was the hand that turned the lock to uncover the possibilities that saying each has a responsibility. She noted that teaching was challenging, but its rewards were life changing. She emphasised that the students’ role was to be active participants rather than passive recipients and they should channel their time and energies to school work so as to improve the school’s academic record and craft a successful future for themselves.
Thebe urged the students to look beyond impossibilities and set themselves disciplines that would place them ahead of their peers.She said after completing her form five with straight As, she went to Malaysia on government sponsorship where she studied with students from more than 160 countries, who were from advanced systems but through her love for reading and learning she managed to graduate top of her class.
Thebe said through hard work and dedication, she has excelled through her academic and professional life where she was leading one of the globally competitive, creative and innovative universities. She is the regional director of corporate and media relations and oversees the Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland campuses.
