Boatile ordered to pay P1,000 child support

The presiding Magistrate, Lindiwe Makgoro made the order yesterday at the Molepolole Magistrate court. “I order that from the date of September 30 2015, Boatile should pay child maintenance of P1,000 until the child turns 18 years, or is able to take care of herself. He is to pay this amount into the mother’s account,” she said.
Boatile was not present in court when the order was made.
The mother to Boatile’s six-year-old daughter, 29-year-old Onalenna Moilwa of Moshupa, said they had come to court together to postpone the matter to yesterday from the initial date, since her ex-lover had indicated that he had other engagements on the previously set date.
Moilwa begged the court to order him to cough up maintenance.
“I only ask that Andy Boatile help with the upkeep of our child. I beg for P1,000 per month,” she pleaded.
She did not disclose how much her ex-lover earns neither did the Magistrate make enquiries, but granted her wish.
Mmegi later caught up with Moilwa who revealed that Boatile had never paid a thebe towards their child’s maintenance.
“He has never taken responsibility for our child. All I want is for him to contribute towards taking care of our daughter,” she said.
Efforts to solicit a comment from Boatile hit a snag as his phone rang unanswered.
