Miss Botswana 2015 Fashion show slated for Saturday

Thirty models will walk on the ramp showcasing collections from 11 fashion designers.  The hosts for fashion show are former Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant, Oneal Zibanani Madumo and Leungo Pitse.

Miss Botswana media relations director, Tshepo Maphanyane, said that both the top 20 and top 12 will be announced at the fashion show.

The models comprise of young women that were selected from the northern and southern region of the country by a panel of judges namely Tlhomamo Thabiso Moje, Boitshwarelo Lebang, Dorcas Thobega Molefhe and Bogadi Nwako.

The same judges will be in charge during the fashion show.

The aspiring models have been undergoing a boot camp in the past weeks, which covered elements such as Miss World project presentation, fitness, talent, teamwork and public speaking.

The general public has been voting for their favourite models since the announcement of the top 30 through SMS costs.

The general public’s contribution amounts to 40 percent.

Maphanyane said the models were trained by seasoned South African choreographer, Andiswa Manxiwa, who has worked with Avon cosmetics, and as a scouting judge for Nokia Face of Africa model search.

She has also featured as a model in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks in South Africa since 2010.

The last Miss Botswana beauty pageant was held in 2013.

Designers who will participate during the Miss Botswana fashion show are Thabiso Dibeela, Aobakwe Molosiwa, Black Trash, Kaone Moremong, Motlagomang ‘DihDah’ Tsheko, Lame Chilume.  In addition to the list are Thato Mminatau (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.1), Lerato Barwabatsile (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.2), Oganne Baitsile (President’s Day Fashion Designers No.3), Gaborone Technical College and Limkokwing Fashion Club.
