The player has been at the centre of a wrangle between Orapa United and GU after signing a contract with the latter.  GU had announced Moyo as one of the players they signed in the just ended transfer window before Orapa United insisted that the player still had a running contract with them.

Orapa argued that the player signed a new contract with them before he went on to sign with GU and the matter was referred to the PSC.

However, the PSC ruled that Moyo was a free agent when he signed a contract with GU.

Orapa United spokesperson, Tebatso Hule confirmed that they would exercise their right to appeal, as they feel aggrieved.

He said they believe the PSC judgement is not aligned to the facts of the matter.

“We are intending to appeal within these 10 days as per the Play Rules and Regulations. Our belief is that most of the facts were not looked at properly, so we have a strong case to appeal,” he said.

Hule also said their appeal should not be viewed in bad light as they are not doing so to fight anyone.

“We are not doing this to fight anyone.

We are appealing just in matter of principle because if we do not appeal this ruling, we would be setting a bad precedence for future cases of this manner,” he said.

He said they would not have a problem with Moyo joining a team of his choice, but their appeal is to do with a matter of principle.

The player was initially scheduled to travel with GU to South Africa for a training camp in the off-season.

However, he returned to Orapa United after the issue of signing two contracts surfaced.

He has been sitting on sidelines awaiting the PSC to deliberate on the matter.

The player has reportedly left Orapa after the ruling. “We are told that some people came and ferried him to Gaborone after the ruling,” Hule said.

Moyo was an integral part of the Orapa United team that finished as runners up in the league last season.

He scored 14 goals and finished second in the goal scoring charts. Orapa United have acquired the services of another proven goal scorer, Bonolo Fraizer who is expected to form a deadly partnership with Patrick Lenyeletse upfront.
