Gunners however had an upper hand and were able to construct threatening moves towards the goal posts.

The game went into recess without goals. Just four minutes into the second half, Gunners threatened once again and nearly got the lead but Jomo Moatlhaping’s goal was ruled offside.

Satmos introduced Thato Ganetsang who replaced Etani Babili but that did not shake Gunners who seemed more determined. Nno Sebolaanoga was also introduced for Lawrence Malope.

Gunners also made substitutions introducing Boitshoko Zikhale who came in for Thabiso Mabachi. After a long wait for the goal, Mosimanegape Ntwaetsile broke the deadlock.

A few minutes after Ntwaetsile put smiles on the faces of supporters, Moatlhaping extended the lead in the 60th minute. The game gathered pace with Satmos looking to come back into the game while Gunners was determined to increase the lead.

Satmos was getting frustrated and hoping to get either a consolation goal or force a comeback, but luck was not on their side as their shots went over Tladinyana’s post.

Moatlhaping scored the last goal of the game in the 88th minute to put the game beyond Satmos’ reach. Gunners are now sitting at the top of the log with nine points from three games.

In a post-match interview, Satmos coach Kenneth Mogae said his team lost because they were slow. He said his midfielders were not creative, hence they failed to score. “I have observed that supply from the midfield was poor,” he said. “We also lacked anticipation. What we need to do is to improve our runs on the ball because we were always late.”

The winning coach, Keitumetse Paul was happy with the results. He said his players played according to plan. He was impressed by his new players who displayed good character.

“As a coach I need to support my players and motivate them, they have played good so far but we should not relax as it is still a long way to go,” he said.
