Cresta Bosele to celebrate Letlhafula Day in style

This year the event will mark its fifth year and it is expected to be one of the biggest events in town.

Cresta Bosele Hotel guest relations officer, Masego Masunga, said that this year the event is going to have some improvements to show growth.

She said that as Bosele Hotel their aim is to improve the event every year, but taking into consideration the main objectives of the event.

“Recently we went to Orange Letlhafula to benchmark, we are going to adopt part of their procedure to improve our event,” she said.

Masunga said that their main aim is to make the event popular like other culture events such as Orange Letlhafula and others. 

She said that Cresta Bosele Hotel Letlhafula Day is an important culture event in Selebi Phikwe, especially that there are few events in the area, which promote culture.

She also stated that part of the proceeds from the event would be donated to the needy in Selebi Phikwe. 

She said that for the past years they have been working with Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) to help identify a family they can assist.

“SPTC helps us to identify a needy family that we can assist with the funds we have raised from the event.  This will be our fourth year helping the needy through the funds we have accumulated,” she said.

She also said that the event is going to be graced by traditional groups such as the famous Diwetse Cultural Group and Maghebula.

“Selebi Phikwe is a very quite town.  We want to revive it, most of the time people travel long distances in search of traditional entertainment and we want them to have a good time here with us without having to travel long distances,” she said.

Masunga also stated that this year they have engaged the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture.

She also stated that different companies have also been working with them for quite some time to make the event a success.  Apart from traditional food, music and clothes, exhibitors would also showcase their cultural products.

This year the event will be held at the Cresta Bosele Hotel after three years of being hosted at Anne Adams Park.

Masunga said that even though they have moved the event to the hotel premises they are going to decorate the venue using traditional material.

“We have decided to move the event to the hotel, but we are going to try by all means to decorate the venue in a traditional way because we do not want to distort the meaning of the day,” she said.
