Digging Tswana Roots

Setswana in the very roots of mankind (Part 2)

We then proceeded to show how Setswana helps us explain words like “Anunnaki” itself, as well as others like Earth (KI), LU.LU, Adam, Eve, and Eden. All these are key words that speak to our primordial roots and we have even shown how some of them have been grossly misinterpreted when looking at older sources like the Atra-Hasis.

We saw in Part 1 that the LU.LU (“mixed creature”) was a hybrid of Cro-Magnon man and Anunnaki. He was thus sterile. But Enki, the gods’ second-in-command and Chief Scientist, heeded the cry of the “birth-goddesses” whose strenuous job was to receive test-tube implants and then birth the new hybrid whose own job was to relieve the gods of toil in the mines. Enki thus secretly created a Mo-ata (Ata-mo [Adam] in Hebrew syntax); a hybrid doctored to be able to breed. This is not just a fanciful tale. Actual Sumerian depictions show a laboratory with test-tubes, a genetic “tree of life”, and the goddess Mami cutting the umbilical cord of the Atamo!

Enlil, leader of the gods, was furious to hear about Adam and Eve, the new breeding pair. He confiscated them to his lush residence in Eden (E-di-ene: “the place of the gods”) where he could keep a close watch on them. Looking ahead, Enlil knew that this new breed of humanity might soon outnumber even the Anunnaki and overrun the planet – with game-changing consequences. But one day Enki came visiting and he secretly showed them how breeding is done. Eve fell pregnant, much to Enlil’s fury.

Piecing together from the Atra-Hasis and other sources, this is what Enlil told the shivering pair: “I opened up my estate to you, wherein you lived a life of ease, and this is how you repay me?” To Adam he said “You will now return to dig the ground (mine the earth); back to where I took you from.” Millennia later, Genesis twisted the story along “monotheistic” lines. The “mining” theme was circumvented and “God” instead said:  “You will now till the ground…where you come from and will return (die)” as if it toiling now related to farming and mankind was indeed made from soil! Why was it twisted? From Abraham’s time, and for reasons well-explained in many articles, no-one was to speak of “gods” any more – much less hear that Adam was created specifically to relieve such gods of toil in the mines!

Why is Eden also called “Paradise”? Phara-disa, Setswana reveals, did not originally mean “an idyllic place”; it meant “guarded throughout”. Why? To protect a certain “tree of life” that conferred immortality. Guarding it was an angel with “a flaming sword that turned all directions”. Indeed, now that Adam had attained “immortality” through sex and procreation – i.e. his line could perpetuate even after his death – there was one more “fruit” he was not to attain. He was to never enter any of the rocketships; me-sha (“fiery ones”) – sha-m (shems) in Hebrew syntax. Science has shown that an accelerating-decelerating rocket in space bends time and just a few years for the crew inside can translate to thousands of years in earth-time (see Meyer’s Handbook on Space). This was one of the Anunnaki’s best guarded secret and only the gods could “taste” this powerful illusion.

This was exactly why a “dreaded spotlight” (laser-equipped searchlight) swept across Dilmun (the other name for Eden) where the rockets were based. What does Dil-mun mean? It referred to an area that is now present-day Israel and Lebanon. And just as with Cape Kennedy in the USA, this “sacred place of the gods” was watched over with what ordinary mortals saw as hostile eyes. Indeed, dilola-monna meant “[they] regard men with hostility”.

Mankind, it seems, had no business searching for “immortality”. His job was to toil at the mines. But only apocryphal books such as the Book of Enoch unwittingly revealed this duty – which is exactly why they were banned. Chapter 21 describes an underground smelting house (rivers of molten metal trickled through this “hot and dreadful place”) and merciless angels prodded the “savage” and unwilling workers with what seemed like electrified forks. This “Hades” (haatshe in Setswana: “underground”) evidently became the Christian prototype of Hell – but further embellished by the dreadful imagination of, especially, Dante. These “angels” soon became “demons” in popular imagination, just as Enki became a literal “snake”. His “original sin” was simply that he “betrayed” the gods by advising Adam that he, too, could become “immortal” like them. Enki’s intertwined-snakes insignia is still the universal symbol of medicine and healing (although, in reality, it reflected the science of genetics as denoted by the double-helix of the chromosome). But Enlil hated it; it symbolised to him all that he had wished to avoid.

Indeed, just as Enlil had feared, mankind’s population increased and eventually their “noise” became too much for Enlil who tried to keep their numbers down with plagues and diseases. But, says the Atra--Hasis, Enki was always at hand to secretly thwart Enlil’s plans. To make matters worse, and as described in my previous miniseries Inside the true story of the Nefilim, the lonely Igigi then came down from space in numbers during and after Marduk’s wedding to Tsirpanit (Mmantsiripane) and they blurred the apartheid between man and god by taking mortals for wives. As Enlil looked helplessly on, disaster was steadily looming.

The Earth’s obliquity (rhythmic tilting) was inching towards its most extreme angle of 24.4 degrees and the weight of the ice cap was increasing at the poles. Next week, we see how Enlil took full advantage of this as the defining Age of Lowe (when everything had to begin anew) crept ever closer.
