New Capitol Cinemas hosts producers of Thina Sobabili

There will be a red carpet event welcoming the producers tomorrow at the Masa Centre followed by a workshop where local film producers are invited to share ideas.

“We are very excited about this latest project, we have partnered with Pula Power and Yarona fm, We hope that this will not be the last of such meetings between our local film industry and others who have excelled in the field internationally,” said operations manager at AKD, New Capitol Cinemas, Macdonald Ferera.

The group that is expected to visit the country tomorrow consists of the director and producer of the film Enerst Nkosi, the Executive producer Lusanda Mgoduka, the art director Enos Mamthatha, Thato Dladhla and actor in the film who plays the role of Alvin Knight, Mpho Nthangeni, Boitumelo Mohale as well as Corlize Lutting.

According to New Capitol Cinemas, starting from 9.30 am at Riverwalk they will be hosting a filmmaker’s workshop on Saturday. They have said that filmmakers and students are welcome to showcase their work to the award-winning producers.

“There will be an open forum with the group share the challenges of filmmaking and explore the themes that inspire and motivate them,” said Ferera.The film was released on July 31 debuting at the Durban International Film Festival. It was picked as the best film to show at the African Diaspora International Film Festival in New York. The film won the 2015 Audience Award at the Pan African Film Festival.
