Mogae Lashes Out At Players

They allowed the host to come at us. They just did not play. I feel let down,” said Mogae, who posited a frustrated figure for most of the proceedings.

Mogae said that lack of match fitness might have been the reason his charges as they failed to click on Friday. Second half substitute, Thabang Sesinyi scored the match’s only goal with 13 minutes left to play after connecting with Lemogang Massena’s cross from right. FC Satmos were poor from the word go and allowed the Ostriches to enjoy a large chunk of possession.  In the Friday clash, United gave debuts to over five players among them Bonolo Fraizer, Maswena, Mokgathi Mokgathi and Olekane Mambo. However, their newly appointed coach Madinda Ndlovu was not on the bench due to work permit issues.

Of all the debutants, it was Fraizer who had a very eventful day. With his imposing physique and predatory instincts upfront, the former Mochudi Centre Chiefs forward gave the home fans a glimpse of what to expect from him this season.

Fraizer would have buried more than two chances in the first half, but was on several occasions denied by an alert Satmos goalie Ogopotse Tshule. His best chance came in the 29th minute when he found himself one-on-one with the goalie after he dribbled past his marker.  The bulky forward shot straight at Tshule who parried the ball out for a corner. Late in the first half, Fraizer thought he has found the decisive opener but his header was fisted over the bar by an acrobatic Tshule.

Satmos never threatened in the first half. They attempted two counter attacks, but they were easily dealt with by the host defence.

Satmos woes continued with nearly 70 minutes into play when Onalenna Moalosi was sent off for a rough tackle on Patrick Lenyeletse.

The Ostriches continued to pile pressure on the visitors until they were rewarded in the 77th minute. Maswena navigated past a defender from the right before laying the ball to an unmarked Sesinyi to convert with ease.

Fraizer continued to threaten the visitors defence, but was let down by his poor finishing. The only time Orapa United goalkeeper Mosimanegape Roberts was called to duty in the second half was when he came off his line to clear the danger after a dangerous back pass from Mambo.

Late in the match Satmos tried long several long range shorts range shorts, but they were all less threatening.
