New signings impress in pre-season tourneys

Some of the new signings have impressed in two high profile pre-season tournaments, the Barclays Kabelano Charity Cup and the Regent Matebejana Cup.
Former Notwane midfielder, Odirile ‘Deco’ Kgaodi seems to have jelled well with his teammates at Extension Gunners. The player provided the creativity that his new team lacked in the past season.
The playmaker scored his first goal in ‘Guna Guna’ colours when he converted from the spot in the Matebejana Cup last weekend.
Mogomotsi Mokoka’s physical presence seemed to be what the ‘Peleng Boys’ have been yearning for.
Though he is yet to score a goal for his new team, Mokoka’s physique is set to give local defenders hard times.
Tshegofatso Chimuku’s name is on the lips of Gunners’ fans as the pint-sized attacker gives the Lobatse-based side speed and creativity on the wings.

Attacker Obonye Marope, who was recruited from BDF XI’s feeder side Matebejana, scored his first for ‘Matebele’ in the Matebejana Cup and the player will be a perfect replacement for Kabelo Seakanyeng reported to be on his way to Orapa United.
Trialists Patrick Kaunda and Phenyo Mongala also showed glimpses of good play, but match fitness seemed to be a factor for both players.
Following his poor display in the Kabelano Cup, Chiefs’ new goal minder Edwin Mokibe, redeemed himself with a couple of good saves in the Matebejana Cup.
He commanded his defence well and with a little bit of confidence, the acrobatic keeper will give Raphael Nthwane and Mmopoloki Sephekolo a run for their money.

National Under-23 left back, Kaone van der Westhuizen provides back-up for Thato Bolelweng and injured Otlantshekela Mooketsi at Township Rollers.
With the club looking for a left footed full back, Van der Westhuizen who was on loan at Letlapeng last season was solid in the Kabelano Cup final and he seemed to be the right option. Returnee Mogogi Gabonamong provided the stability in both the centre back and defensive midfield positions.
