Tabona was speaking to Mmegi Sport on the sidelines of the club’s fund raising dinner last Friday here. TAFIC registered a company a few years ago under the name TAFIC (Pty) Ltd.

However, the company never blossomed as a result of infighting, which bedevilled the team at the time. For sometime, the club also did not said much about the company.

“We are about to finalise the process of changing names of holding directors because the initial holding directors are no longer part of the club. “We have received their (initial directors) approval to change the names of directors and we have submitted the approval letters to the Registrar of companies.

We are hopeful that the approval of the new directors will not take too long,” said Tabona, adding that after the approval of new directors, the company will start functioning.

He explained that the holding directors would step down once the club has floated shares to prospective investors.

“Those who will have bought more shares will assume directorship of the club.”

Tabona added that the team plans to invest in property once the business has been properly registered.

“We will also engage professionals to advise us on the other types of businesses we can venture in,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tabona refused to discuss the sponsorship deals, which he said the club has signed with some investors.

However, Mmegi Sport has it on good authority that one construction mogul based in Gaborone and a local dealership have agreed in principle to fund the club this season.

Mmegi Sport has also learnt that members of the club’s executive committee led by Tabona yesterday met the construction mogul in Gaborone to further discuss the sponsorship deal.
