BA ISAGO takes first step into research

The forum saw academic and non-academic staff showcasing talent in research and contributing towards the mandate of the university.

Dean of Faculty of Commerce, Oscar Chiwira said in a statement that the event was expected to grow and draw interest from internal academic fraternity as well as to involve other tertiary institutions, industry and government.

“The maiden research seminar has drawn presenters and participants from academic and non-academic staff within the university,” said Chiwira.  He added that institutions, mainly universities were distinguished by their contribution to research locally and internationally. He said research contributed to development, unpacking new ideas, innovation, theories and models, which would be used by either institutions or individuals to further research.

“Research can be used as a tool to profile a university. BA ISAGO University is going to take research seriously because of these possible benefits,” he said.

Research topics ranged from private tertiary assessment tools, challenges and key successes in small businesses, climate change, wastewater reuse and crop production among many others.
