Francistown to host maiden meat festival

Organisers of the event said that they anticipate that dozens of people will attend the event. One of the event organisers, Theophillus Moduane, a student at Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) said in an interview, “The festival concept has received massive response from the people of Francistown and surrounding areas.  For this reason we anticipate that many people will attend the event.”

He told Showbiz that the main purpose of the event is to attract meat lovers in Francistown to taste the different kinds in a bid to promote the country’s beef. Moduane noted that the main concept of the event would not differ from the well-known Lobatse Meat Festival, as it will be mostly meat tasting. “However, it will be a little bit different in the sense that youth entrepreneurs will have exhibition stalls in a bid to market their businesses,” he said. He added, “This is to give the young entrepreneurs a platform to market their ventures to the attendees.”  Moduane said that they would be offering camping tents for hire to patrons to relax while at the event, which will start Saturday morning until the wee hours of Sunday. An optimistic Moduane noted that there would also be activities for children, which among them will involve a football match. Various artists such as Ozi F Teddy, Dr Tawanda, Touch and Klasick are expected to entertain the audience.
