Judo fights turn ugly

Mmegi Sport is in possession of an email addressed to the BNSC chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng and acting chief executive officer, Thato Kgosimore.
In the letter, Hattingh points an accusing finger at an unnamed committee member who she argues has been harassing her since 2013.
Hattingh in her communication to BNSC, said she has been reported to and investigated by the CID, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the Department of Labour and Immigration as part of a plot to harass her.
Broadhurst Police Station Commander, Bonosi Molapisi confirmed to Mmegi Sport Hattingh was charged over permit issues and fined.
“We received voluntary information about her noncompliance to the work permits statutes, and we then offered her an admission of guilty charge, of which she paid,” Molapisi said.
In the email to BNSC, Hattingh said she had received threatening calls, in the middle of the night “to be told, that I will be thrown out of this country like a dog and will never see judo again.
“I have been followed home numerous times in the evening, by the same black car and my yard has been broken into on various occasions,” she said. Hattingh states that the remarks made by an executive committee member in question (name to known to Mmegi Sports) about her role as BJF president, “are very racist”. Hattingh said her accuser had also questioned her eligibility for the presidency since she was a foreigner.
Kgosimore said they are aware of issues at BJF and they will soon meet concerned parties.
“We are not supposed to be seen as meddling with our affiliates internal issues, but to be mediators in circumstances that arise of such nature. With that, we hope the issues at BJF will be resolved amicably,” Kgosimore said.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture chief public relations officer, Thobo Tlhasana has confirmed Judo has been a subject of investigations by the Ministry.
He said they had since sent their recommendations to the BNSC and referred this publication to the sports body.
Kgosimore said they will share information regarding the outcome of the matter, including the recommendations from the ministry, after meeting the concerned parties.
