Yet to discuss Stars's stay: Dambe

“As of now, there is no news on the player’s movement. It is not yet official. We will sit down with Stars in the next week and let you know, but as of now there is no news,” said Mitchell.

Reports were that Stars has released the Zebras’ number one goalkeeper.

Dambe arrived at Dikwena from Township Rollers in July 2012 where he was Siyabonga Mpontshane’s deputy for two and a half seasons. The 25-year old then became the first choice shot stopper after Mpontshane signed for Pirates in January.  Dambe’s exit maybe a result of the arrival of Senegalese goalkeeper, Bouna Coundil.  The 32-year old was Senegal’s number goalkeeper at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

If Dambe is to leave Stars, he will be joining Joel Mogorosi and Mogogi Gabonamong who were both released by Bloemfontein Celtics while Modiri Marumo was also relieved of his duties at Polokwane City.

This will mean Botswana has only one player who plies his trade in the South African elite league in Mogakolodi Ngele who was snatched by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Meanwhile, Mitchell has confirmed that Zebras striker, Omaatla Kebatho has signed a two-year deal with South African National First Division (NFD) side, Vasco da Gama.

The Cape Town-based team snatched the burly striker from Sankoyo Bush Bucks where he caught the eye of the national team selectors.

He said the former Gaborone United midfielder Jackie Mothatego has signed with defending league champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs on a two-year deal.
