New additions: Comets have signed new players ahead of this weekend's softball tournament

Comets, which obtained position three in men’s teams last year, have vowed to do better this year.

The men’s squad has been bolstered with the signing of two players while three females have joined the women’s side.

The men’s caretaker coach, Thabologo Reotebile described the recent signings as a good edition to the team.

He said the club has signed experienced players who have won cups before.

“We have signed players so that we improve our position. The players we have signed are experienced,” he said.

He said it was important for the team to sign a pitcher as they looked at what the team has.

Pitcher Nlebisane Kelapile has been signed from Wipers and is described as one of the best in the game.  Reotebile believes Nlebisane will play a crucial role as he comes in as highly rated.

“Nlebisane is one of the best pitchers we have. Our aim this year is to win the tournament and with him and other four pitchers we have, I trust we are going to improve,” he said.

Godfrey Mosiameng who plays second base joins from Scramblers.

“All the players are ready to play. We have been training for quite sometime and I believe my players will display the best skills, “ he said.

The women’s team has been boosted by the arrival of  Thokodzani Moyo, a centre field player, Gosegonna Akanyang a catcher and outfielder, both signed from Wipers.

Queen Morgan who plays position seven, and is also a catcher, joins from Vikings.

Comets general manager, Oeme Morupisi described the recent signings as great additions to the team.

“Last year our weakness was on the women’s side which I think this time we managed to assemble a winning squad,” he said.
