Motlakase denies owing Changwe

He claimed he left the Premier League side without receiving his full dues, except for the P1, 000, he said he was given as transport fare back home, instead of the P8,000 he had expected to be paid end of June.
Changwe, who has left for his native Zambia was contracted to Motlakase until the 2015/16 season.
He had an option to leave before the expiration of his contract, provided he has served one-month notice.
The club alleged that Changwe was demanding a 95 percent salary increase, something the management said was unaffordable. “I have only been given P1,000 to transport me to Zambia. I do know why I have been treated like this after doing so well for the club.
I will not fight the club over the money, though. My only wish is that teams in Botswana will one day learn how to run their affairs professionally and honour agreements,” he said.
Changwe insisted that he notified the club management through its secretariat about his intentions to serve notice for the whole of June late in May. But the club maintained the contrary when contacted yesterday. ‘Chouka Chouka’ chairman Segadimo Mangisi said that they do not owe Changwe a thebe, the lowest denomination of the local currency.
“He did not serve the one month notice as he says. He claims to have written a letter to us at the end of May stating that he wanted to serve notice beginning June.
“But we only saw his letter in the middle of June while he was in Zambia. Under these circumstances, we could not pay him his full month salary.” Changwe has coached other Premier League sides such as TAFIC (before they were relegated to the first division) and Orapa United.
His first break in the country was in 2011 when he coached TASC in the First Division.
