The day Super hit a 90 degrees

They needed a moment of magic to find an equaliser, but the Secretaries were threatening to increase the lead as they were piling pressure on Cabinet defence.
Each time the Secretaries approached the Cabinet’s 18-yard area, it looked like they would easily aim behind the net. Defender, Tshekedi ‘Man+Ball’ Khama was working overtime bulldozing the striking force of the Secretaries.
The Cabinet goalkeeping duo, Dorcas ‘Dog-Dog’ Makgato and Unity ‘Head-Girl’ Dow were not convincing in front of the goal posts. The middle field that included the Vice President, Mokgweetsi ‘Sisi Boy’ Masisi in his trademark gansta-rap swagger red flat cap, was in disarray.
President Ian ‘Super SKI’ Khama wearing jersey number 10 and playing on the attacking right wing, was getting more and more frustrated. The Secretaries had an effective plan for him as they assigned a youthful and equally physically fit player to guard him.
Super's supply of passes from the lanky Sadique ‘Reabusa’ Kebonang was constantly getting intercepted. The Secretaries, however, made a big tactical mistake with a substitution that saw the newcomer Neil Fitt having to mark the ever-competitive Super. It turned out to be a freeway for SKI because Fitt was totally unfit. Fitt found himself waking up from the ground twice as Super swept passed him with the ball.
The second dribble proved to be costly for the Secretaries as Super delivered the match’s moment of brilliance with a super strike on the edge of the penalty area. With his right foot the President hammered the ball perfectly, hitting the inside corner of the goal posts and the ricochet crossed the goal line. Goalkeeper, Thatayaone Dedede did not have a chance.
It was a ‘90 degrees’. The stadium ruptured in loud celebrations.
Only Thapelo ‘Tipps’ Olopeng sprinted to Super from the middle of the park, like a typical football player in goal euphoria, to congratulate the goal scorer. Tipps gave Super an excited double hi-five in midair.
Slumber ‘Slambizo’ Tsogwane who was the striking force for the Cabinet also gave Super a hi-five.
The game ended one-all.
The commentator on the Stadium PA system cheekily declared Super as the man of the match as he ran off the pitch with a boastful ‘bosso’ pose followed by his security entourage.
The football match, which was played at the University of Botswana stadium on Friday afternoon, was part of the Public Service Day celebration activities.
