Gunners have scheduled their meeting for tomorrow in Lobatse, while GU supporters will converge at the University of Botswana in Gaborone on the same day.  Gunners’ meeting follows reports that divisions within the management are rife.

GU on the other hand, have been hogging headlines over the fight for positions in the executive committee following the end of the term for the outgoing committee.  Preparations for the AGM have been marred by tensions with two camps battling it out for the available positions in the committee.   The one camp, led by the Fidelis Nkomazana and the other, headed by former player, Gofamodimo ‘City’ Senne, are currently battling it out for control of the club. Nkomazana who has been serving the club as the chairperson is now standing for the position of president.

The meeting follows reports that the initial list of candidates who are vying for positions has been trimmed, something, which has reportedly not gone down well with the other camp led by Senne.

There are reports that some candidates have been vetted out because of a clause in the club constitution, which has since left other candidates ineligible to stand for positions.

The clause apparently indicates that all those who stand for elections should have been active members of the club without having seized membership for the last two years.

This has in turn saw Senne and Rapula Okaile being vetted out, leaving other candidates for those aspiring positions unopposed.  Senne was standing for the position of secretary general against Kennedy Ramojela. Herbert Letsebe previously held the position.

Okaile was contesting for the position of the chairperson where he was standing against Tymon Katlholo.

Katlholo was previously serving as the president of the club. The former chairperson, Nkomazana, is currently contesting for the position of president, against Ntona Ketsitile.  The position of treasurer, which was previously held by Kagiso Rantswaneng, is being battled for by Goitsemang Lonkokile and Nancy Borakanelo.  Mochudi Centre Chiefs will hold their AGM on July 19, 2014 in Mochudi.
