BOCCIM urges businesses to exploit global markets

BOCCIM, which is in the process of rebranding to Business Botswana, made the call yesterday at a press briefing to launch the World Chamber Trust. The service aims to assist SMEs already active in, or interested in, developing new markets in international trade.

Briefing the media yesterday, BOCCIM chief executive officer, Maria Machailo-Ellis explained that the Chamber Trust is a trusted search engine, exclusively focused on companies, their activities and product lines with a goal of providing business-to-business trust in the eWorld.

“Apart from the extra ‘peace of mind’ for the visitors to a sealed company’s website, Chamber Trust incorporates four main benefits for the company with the Chamber Trust seal,” she said.

She explained that the Chamber Trust is a function of the World Chamber Federation, which is a business trust mark that provides a traceable local presence for a company that is online through verification services of a relevant local, regional or national chamber of commerce such as BOCCIM. According to Machailo-Ellis, the Chamber Trust provides the impact and recognition created by verification from qualified Chambers of Commerce, allowing a company to stand out.

She also said it promotes the company’s new products and services regularly with a more comprehensive search engine.

“It gives global exposure through the World Chambers Network Site, which includes a free publishing service in the Global Media Room that allows companies to increase their visibility even more,” said the CEO.

She said the business-to-business-verification seal allows companies around the world to easily find potential new business partners whose existence, profile, products and services Chamber of Commerce a Chamber of Commerce has verified.

“Chamber Trust is the first real worldwide business-to-business trust seal dedicated to international trade,” said Machailo-Ellis.

She noted that through the validation by a Chamber of Commerce of objective information about a given company and through the publishing of a database of beneficiary companies on the existing World Chambers Network site.  These companies are given exposure and impact on the global market.

Georges Fischer, director of international networks and partnerships at the Paris Chamber of Commerce stated that this service is targeting SMEs interested or engaged in International Trade or having international customers (hotels), mainly (but not exclusively) in the business-to-business domain, and having a website.

“This service is subscribed for annually and expires at the anniversary of the subscription,” he said.

The launch subscription fees are P800.00 for paid up BOCCIM members, P1,200.00 for non-paid members and P1,600.00 for non-members.
