On The Flipside

Banyana ba tricky, Majita ba thirsty!

Word has it that the guys were angry because the girls refused to sleep with them.

Its either these girls are naïve or think that they are clever (which they evidently aren’t).

Most men who can take ladies on these all expenses paid escapades expect something in return. There are always terms and conditions to such arrangements; you pay in kind!

When it comes to such men, chances are that they will pay for small useless things like booze, clothes and quarter chicken meals, nothing important. It’s a reflection of how much they value you – cheaply!

On the other hand, if you want to play the “game” then you must abide by the unwritten rules because we all know that those dodgy arrangements all boil down to sex.

It’s also important to have a Plan B if you are to play smart. How does one travel all the way to Durban without extra cash?

Some men who frequent bars, booze and like ‘nice time’ ke bo kgwathe hela. His calling you ‘baby’, ‘bae’ or ‘sweetheart’ doesn’t mean much because he probably addresses many other girls with the same endearment as he’s on a conquest prowl. The idea of ‘nice men’ and ‘generosity’ is a figment of some women’s over-fertile imaginations. Those ‘nice’ men may buy you booze, food and take you to high-class events, yes, but not because they love you, but rather because they want to wind up writhing like raging bulls between your legs.

In most cases, the targets of these dodgy sex-and-booze transactions are broke girls, usually students or the unemployed. It’s easy to manipulate them because they don’t have their own money.

A financially independent woman would not be swayed by such arrangements because she can maintain herself and cover the expenses for her own entertainment.

Young women should learn to be financially independent. If you want to attend the Durban July, wait until you can afford to do so at your own expense!

When chatting to a few guys about this matter, I realised that to them, sex is just easy; they think a woman should just give it up to show gratitude to a guy who did something “nice” for them.

I also noted that tricky ladies have used some guys and they (the men) are in solidarity with the gents for dumping those girls.

Some need to understand that in life, you either lose or win when it comes to women and chasing sex. Those girls are not the first or last to pull such stunts. Many women have and do and will continue to use men. At least those men wasted a few hundred Pulas… Heela, some men have built houses they never lived in for women! There is a Setswana saying that goes, O le aramele fa le go tlhabetse. When lady luck smiles on such women they grab the opportunity with both hands!

On the other hand, as much as we might criticize the girls, we must also question the integrity of the unidentified men. Why do they think it’s acceptable to pick up random girls and take them to Durban? Why didn’t they take their girlfriends or wives with them?

This is an accurate reflection of the rampant moral bankruptcy of some individuals in our society. It also proves that some men are cowards because they don’t verbally communicate their agenda and intentions. If as a man, you want a one nightstand, fling or relationship, tell the truth instead of beating around the bush.

If a woman wants to go home with a man he met at a bar or join him on a trip, that’s her prerogative as long as she understands what she’s getting herself into. However, she is not necessarily obliged to sleep with him just because he bought her booze and food!

I give those girls the moegoe of the week award but I must salute them for not compromising their principles, and keeping their legs closed. The two parties “fixed” each other in the sense that as much as the guys left the girls high and dry, they also didn’t get the sex they were pining for. I can imagine their frustration as they drove back with the nagging itch in the crotch. Ha!
