The event is held every Tuesday evening at President hotel and is hosted by comedy veterans, Rib Cracker and MOD. Cracker Nights was established a few months ago. “This is a platform to empower upcoming comedians and give them more performance time on stage. In the past, we rarely performed so we decided to help upcoming comics get that platform,” said Rib Cracker.

He said local comedians do not have much of an opportunity to perform at comedy gigs, leaving them with few platforms where they can practice and develop their skill.

Cracker Nights is open to any comedian who would like to present their skills on the stage. There is no registration for performing and admission is free for the audience interested in watching.

The event has seen a number of young comedians such as; Nigma, K- Lo and Bambino gracing the stage to display their comic skills.

Every Tuesday there are about 15 to 20 comedians who go on stage, with each being given a five-minute slot to make the crowd laugh.

“Apart from gaining a platform, this will also help the comedians gain stage experience. With comedy, one gains experience when they practice it more often,” he said.

Cracker Nights seems to have grabbed a number of people’s attention as President Hotel gets packed every Tuesday for the comic show.  “These days we get a huge turn out from the audience. At first it was low because we had not advertised it properly,” said the veteran comic.

Rib Cracker said anyone interested in participating can go to President Hotel for more information on how to be part of Cracker Nights.
