Orange Botswana executive, Mosarwa Molema, said this while speaking with Showbizz after the tour. The seven towns’ tour started at Jwaneng on June 22, 2015, before moving to Gantsi the following day.

The tour then proceeded to Maun, Francistown, Selibe-Phikwe, Serowe and Palapye. According to Molema, the main aim of the tour was to sensitise people on 'Africa’s cheapest smart phone', the Orange Klif from Orange Botswana. Molema further said they wanted to make the public aware of the affordable Smartphone.

“Our tour was not about number of Klif phone to sell but about sensitising the public about the availability of the cheapest Smartphone to them. By our countrywide tour of seven towns, we wanted Batswana to celebrate the 3G capable gadget which at P399 has been hailed as bridging the digital divide even among the rural poor as it is loaded with all Smartphone applications and capability of any top end smart phone,” he said.

Molema also revealed that even though they don’t have specific numbers for sales of Klif phones sold during the tour, it  appears Gantsi is  where most phones were sold,  with numbers ranging between 60 and 70.

Molema thanked the ambassador of their tour, Odirile  ‘Vee’ Sento and the Black Money Makers team for having pulled a massive crowd to their tour in all towns they visited.

“Vee is a very professional artist and we chose him because wherever he performs, he pulls a very gigantic crowd. He connects well with different people and that is why we found him suitable for advertising our cheapest, mass market Smartphone because it is affordable to almost everyone.

It is a huge advantage to all as it will improve family communication and also develop the nation,” he explained.

Vee also expressed positive feelings towards the tour. He said the tour was beautiful and they ended up doing some good work for certain individuals, noting how they donated a phone to one primary school girl in Jwaneng. The sensational artist, popularly known as ‘Mampeezy’ said they also bought a homeless child some clothes from JB Sports in Serowe.

“Orange Klif tour was very beautiful; we saw different things, different people and different places. Even the response of people was good; they came in large numbers, especially at Francistown, Selibe-Phikwe, Serowe, Jwaneng and Maun. Even the phone sales were so good,” he said.

Vee said his relationship with Orange Botswana started in 2008, and although he not an official ambassador, the two parties have worked together on several occasions.

With regard to his success in the music industry, he said it was the result of God’s work.

“God made me humble, take my job seriously and work well with people. And I can assure my fans that there is still more to come, I have another project that I have to do with Shell Filling Station, Circumcision project and many more,” he said.
