Veteran journalist, Dikarabao Ramudubu of the Botswana Guardian and the Midweek Sun newspapers walked away as the winner of the inaugural Orange Botswana Media Golf Tournament.

Orange hosted the local media to a golf tournament that is aimed at improving their skills as well as promoting golf as a sport.

Between 2014 and 2015, Orange in partnership with Blue Tree committed over P16,000 to sponsoring 15 journalists from both private and state media to take 12 month long extensive golf lessons. The aspirant golf players included  Tswelelo Mogotsi of Gabz FM, Modiri Mogende of Yarona FM and Sello Motseta of the Tswana Times.

Even though this is the first tournament of its kind in the country, the journalists said  the tournament was not only a fun experience but also had the potential to grow into a bigger annual tournament.  According to Orange Botswana Public Relations Officer Boga Chilinde, the company has in the past supported the sport through the Orange Golf Classics, which was a partnership with the Botswana Golf Union, for a golf tournament for both beginners and seasoned players.
