Matjitji party fails to live up to hype

Matjitji Party is on its third edition of hosting female celebrated parties. The event has a reputation of attracting a huge crowd every year.

Despite being referred to as a micro crowd urban event, this year’s installment of the Matjitji Party attracted only a few revelers who would not qualify to be called a ‘micro crowd’. Female revelers dominated the party, which was themed ‘Matjitji’, which is a female lingo, which refers to a beautiful woman.

The handful number of individuals was on the dance floor dancing to the music played by different DJs and musicians. The line consisted of the likes of DJ Kellz, DJ Izzy, DJ Root, DJ Bernie Brad, Scar and Chrome.

The mood of the event came close to life at midnight when award winning disc jockey DJ Izzy took to the decks and performed an urban music set, which attracted most people to sweat it out on the dance floor.

He started his exciting set with the popular hip-hop track Boss Zonke by Ricky Rick, as the party lovers sang and danced along. Young rapper Chrome also entertained the crowd with his sing along tracks, however his performance was short lived as he only performed two songs, which included his latest offering, Bongwana.

Matjitji Party was hosted by rapper Trauma who also admitted the event was an epic flop.  The strictly local line up event has previously done nation tour events around the country with the same concept.
