The main objective of Fete De La Musique is to give an opportunity to both amateur and professional musicians to perform in the streets and promote their music.  The event attracted a large audience. Local upcoming artists had an opportunity to perform with established local artists such as Zeus, Vee, Moratiwa Productions, and American ensemble, Anthony Stanco and The Crucial Elements.

Upcoming artists consisted of Ryn Blaze, Amo Moatlhaping, Stompi and dancers such as Mike and Miss T.

Backstage the artists had an opportunity to network and share ideas, while some started doing so during the cultural exchange programme.

Artists also performed to a large crowd from different backgrounds. Basically artists had an opportunity to market their craft.  Artists such as Zeus, DJ Cupid and dance crew, Freakazoid displayed some creative acts on stage.  The highlight of the performances was when rapper Zeus went soulful during his act, singing Avicci’s Don’t Wake Me Up and when Hip Hop disc jockey, DJ Cupid played a full length electro set.

Event organiser Lucie Janyk told Arts & Culture that they decided to move the event to Molapo Piazza so that they could provide a professional environment for performing participants.

Apart from the artists, Fete de la Musique is a great experience for revellers because it is free admission, which gives revellers an opportunity to watch their favourite stars.

All artists who performed during Fete de la Musique volunteered to stage free performances, and all of them gave their best despite not being paid for their appearances.

Despite the cold winter revellers seemed to enjoy the melodious sounds and energetic performances from different genres including Soul, Rhumba, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Kwaito.

Fete de la Musique boasted of music, dance and theatrical acts.
