The 80’s and 90’s fashion came out to play as revellers came wearing bright and bold colours . They pulled-off preppy, rock, casual chic and punk fashion.  Both men and women wore huge Afro hairstyles and coloured wigs. Some even did puffed- up hairstyles and wore colourful lipsticks and applied bright blushes on the cheeks. It was interesting to see some ladies wearing swim suits on top of coloured tights and slouch socks pulled to ankles. Others wore spandex mini skirts, and flashy and bling tops along with jackets.

The men wore beanies, caps, sneakers especially Converse, hoods, leather pants and leggings, fur fux coats, skinny jeans, pants and puffed up jackets with the huge Aviation sunglasses like Sylvester Stallone aka Rambo. Some men’s style of fashion was influenced by artists like Michael Jackson while others wore like those of Pimps with colourful blazers, shirts and pants.

The oldies party proved to be a hit once more  as the mature  crowd put their dancing shoes on and their colourful costumes for those decades. On the decks was the legendary  Dj Home,  C4, Simba Mudereri ( former Gabz Fm presenter) and  Dj Shoes. The party started at 8pm until late and it was a night to remember. The party has become a calendar  event because people love it.

Security was tight at the entrance and the complimentary Jameson mixed drink was much loved by the patrons. Flashes of disco lights turned the hall into a night club scene. There was a huge stage packed with hundreds of revellers dancing to their favourite songs whilst others  reminisced at their tables. The mood was exciting and the music was banging. On the decks was the talented Disc jockey (DJ) Homie as he played oldies from Brenda Fassie, Yvonne Chaka Chaka to mention a few.

Dj Homie has been participating at the event for years and this year marked his sixth. The crowd went crazy when Homie played Whitney Houston’s ‘I wanna dance with somebody” and Michael  Jackson’s hit songs. Dj C4 played both 80’s hits and gave an electrifying performance as he oozed out loads of energy. He further rocked the crowd with Nigerian hit songs like Davido’s Gobe and P-Square. The party brings both the young and old together so it makes it more fun. As the night progressed, Dj Shoes took the decks and played the 90’s music . The crowd couldn’t  contain their excitement  and love for the music as they sang along and did killer dance moves . Music such as afro-pop hit songs by Mafikizolo, Micasa and Naaq Music resonated well with the younger crowd as they showed the older crowd their dance moves.   Simba Mudereri who was also reigniting his skills as a Dj after 10 years,  says he enjoyed the party and seeing the dance floor packed was amazing. The prizes won such as a 32” Samsung LED TV, Delongi heater, rice cooker, to name a few by revellers were sponsored by IT Africa. The crowd was always on their feet even the VIP Lounge was almost empty as everyone hit the dance floor.
